Study now. Build experience now.

A Buddy is an adult English-speaking communication partner who works inside a prepared lesson framework and under Teacher supervision where applicable. It is a defined responsibility, not a casual chat role.

PURPOSE-DESIGNED FOR MODERN SCHOOL USEBuilt from day-to-day school practice and operational experience.

The curriculum is prepared specifically for live international communication, from early speaking confidence through academic, research and leadership communication.

CEFRLanguage progression reference

CEFR is used as an international reference point for language development and communication expectations.

CPALMSFlorida academic reference

CPALMS standards resources inform age-appropriate academic language, literacy and communication design.

COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY STUDENT FAST-TRACK

Your Student ID is the front door to the student pathway.

If you are a qualifying current college or university student age 18+, have a valid/current Student ID ready to confirm your student status when requested during onboarding.

The Student Fast-Track can connect campus life with supervised applied experience in communication, mentoring, international interaction, EdTech and small-room facilitation.

Not every Buddy has to be a college student. The General Buddy Pathway may also be available to other qualifying adults 18+. A Student ID is specifically important for the College / University Student Fast-Track.

HYBRID SCHOOL MODEL

Local classroom. International team. One live session.

In the EU school format, up to 30 learners stay physically in their school classroom with at least one local Teacher present. A Buddy and Master Quality Teacher can work on-site from a Partner school / college hub or join online from another location, while remaining in the same live lesson and supervision structure.

Teacher stays in the room

At least one local Teacher is physically present with the class and remains the local educational authority.

Buddy + quality supervision can travel digitally

The Buddy and Master Quality Teacher may be together at a college / school hub or work remotely, with the same live contact and defined roles.

Transatlantic scheduling

South Florida is typically six hours behind Central Europe: 8:00 AM Florida is about 2:00 PM Central Europe, and 3:00 PM Florida is about 9:00 PM. Seasonal clock-change weeks can shift this by one hour.

Training pathway: Buddy trial training can place up to five candidates in one supervised window with a professional instructor modeling the 1:1 session flow. After training, 500 completed supervised / delivered program hours is the experience threshold for internal pathway review toward Master Teacher / Master Quality responsibilities, subject to applicable qualifications, safeguarding, authorization and role requirements.
25-MINUTE LESSON ARCHITECTURE

Short enough for focus. Structured enough for progress.

The same five-part rhythm moves learners from curiosity into live speaking, explanation and a clear final output.

BUDDY ENTRY + DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY

Train in the same live structure you may later support.

Qualifying college and university students can use the Student Fast-Track with a valid Student ID. Eligible adults 18+ outside college follow the General Buddy Pathway. Training begins before direct learner work and can be delivered through an approved Partner hub or online.

ASK LOCALLY FIRST

“Is my school already a Learn & Work Partner?”

If your school, academy, college or education organization is already a Partner and operates local training, you may be able to begin the preparation process there.

No college enrollment? We connect the training route.

Eligible candidates can be referred to the nearest available participating Partner training unit for orientation, observation and supervised preparation. If no local Partner unit is active, the General Buddy onboarding route is coordinated through the Learn & Work network.

Why this matters: local training means you can learn inside the same organization, team culture and supervision structure that may later support your practice.

1

18+ and apply

Complete the Buddy registration and role information.

2

Local Partner check

We identify whether your own institution or a nearby participating Partner offers the applicable training route.

3

Train before student interaction

Orientation, boundaries, lesson framework, observation and readiness come before direct support with learners.

TRIAL TRAINING WINDOW

Up to five Buddy candidates, one professional instructor.

The instructor demonstrates the 1:1 flow. Candidates rotate through practice and observation, receive live feedback and learn the exact session structure before supporting learners.

500 HOURS

A clear experience milestone.

After training, 500 completed supervised / delivered program hours is the internal experience threshold for review toward Master Teacher / Master Quality responsibilities. Formal role requirements still apply. Moving into a Master Teacher role additionally requires the applicable teaching / educator license and role approval.

TRANSATLANTIC WINDOW

Morning in Florida meets afternoon in Europe.

8:00 AM South Florida is typically about 2:00 PM Central Europe. A broader 8:00 AM–3:00 PM Florida availability window aligns approximately with 2:00–9:00 PM in Central Europe, except during short seasonal clock-change periods.

ACADEMIC FOUNDATION

A purpose-built program with recognized reference points.

The Shining Speech™ curriculum is designed for day-to-day school use, with CEFR-referenced language progression and CPALMS-informed academic communication. Each role enters the same structured program rather than a disconnected tutoring marketplace.
